Designing the project

The Kirk Session appointed Rosalind Taylor, of the Tod and Taylor practice, as architect for the project.   She worked in close consultation with our Property Committee and ultimately, with the assembled congregation, to produce a design that was liked by everyone.  So we had no disputes, no schisms, no sulks; everyone agreed everything – the blessing of our small size perhaps?

This was costed and adopted, and wisely, the Kirk Session insisted that it be “frozen” - no second thoughts, no add-ons, unless advised as essential by the architect as work progressed.  The architect also appointed and managed the contractors who undertook the work.
