Realising that refurbishment was necessary

We were familiar with our church and loved it, so approached the idea of major change with some trepidation.  But if one looked hard at the building, refurbishment and change were necessary.  The heating barely worked any more; the paint was weathered – to be kind; the pew cushions were lumpy; the organ, potentially a fine instrument, had become rather bronchitic.  But structurally, the building was sound, so worthy of investment.  And so, we began.
